Tucked between Jordan's sandstone cliffs in the southwestern desert, Petra was carved directly into rose-colored rock more than 2,000 years ago. Petra takes on an entirely different atmosphere at night. On certain evenings, hundreds of candles light the path through the Siq, leading visitors back to the Treasury, now glowing under the stars. It’s a sensory experience that connects the modern traveler to the mystery of the past.
